Uploading Pictures & Video To Your Profile
Photos
If you’re having problems uploading your pictures, or if your page is taking too long to open, it could be that your image files are too big and need to be re-sized. Here is a simple way to do this.
- Right click here and choose “open in another page/tab”
- Select your picture with the browse button
- Choose the small “Or Quick Resize” option
- In the 2nd option, check “custom size”, enter “280″ in the “Height (optional)” field and change the “percent” next to it to “pixels”
- Press the “Resize Pic” button at the bottom, making sure the format next to it is jpeg.
- In the next screen choose the “Save to Disk” option, and it’s ready to upload to ComedyCaster from your computer, and you’re done.
If you go back to edit your listing and want to change any of the photos, you will need to delete them and then upload them one at a time, and update the page after each one is added.
Video Clips
If you want to include a video on your page you will need to have the clip you want uploaded to a page on youtube. If you haven’t, open a youtube account which is free and very simple – just follow the instructions on the youtube site. Once your video is up there, follow these steps to include it in your profile:
- Underneath the clip on the youtube page is a button marked “Share” which you click.
- This generates a URL (page address) and underneath that a button marked “Embed” appears
- Click on the “Embed button”
- Code is generated in the box underneath. Copy it.
- Paste the code into the “clip” field in your ComedyCaster application form.
- Within the code are 2 numbers: for the width and height of the clip. They are often 640 and 385, but not always. Once you paste the code in, find these 2 numbers and manually change them to 300 for the width and 250 for the height.
- Get the url address of the youtube page and paste that into the “clip url” field on our form. This will help you find the page again easily.
That’s it!
