Currently a regular in BBC Radio 4′s long running comedy hit ‘The Now Show’, Laura has worked in many different fields within the entertainment industry: actress, singer, writer, presenter, journalist, stand-up comedian, impressionist.
Having trained originally as an actress she appeared in many TV, radio and theatre productions, including three plays at the Royal National Theatre. As well as performing regularly on radio and TV, her singing group ‘Bellacappella’ have entertained in venues all over the world – from army bases in the Falklands, to the Royal Festival Hall, where they supported the Chieftains and Ralph McTell.
She has penned articles for magazines, presented radio to residents of London, Essex, Sussex and Hampshire, written sketches for radio and television comedy shows, and performed stand-up comedy all round the country, as well as launching and compering the first and only weekly female stand-up comedy club ‘Hersterics’.
As a voiceover she recently won Best Female Voiceover Performance in the VOX Awards 2011 and has worked extensively in all aspects of the industry: from international TV and radio advertising campaigns to cartoons and on-hold phone systems. Turn on any TV or radio set in the country and you’re sure to hear her voice.
